Zagreb Airport Sets New Passenger Record in May

Zagreb Airport experienced its busiest month on record in May 2024, handling 399,730 passengers. This impressive figure marks a 21.3% increase compared to May of 2023, the previous record year. The surge in passenger numbers is supported by a 12.7% increase in the number of operated flights, reaching a total of 4,511 for the month.

From January to May, Zagreb Airport welcomed 1,564,786 travellers, reflecting a 16.2% rise over the same period last year. This translates to an additional 218,293 passengers compared to 2023. The airport’s performance so far indicates that 2024 is on track to surpass last year’s record figures.

Looking ahead, strong growth is expected to continue into June, with scheduled seat capacity set to rise by 18.5%. This trend underscores the airport’s increasing popularity and the robust recovery of air travel in the region.
