Croatia’s Double Triumph: Adopts Euro and Joins Schengen!

Croatia has achieved two major milestones, adopting the euro and joining the Schengen area of free movement. As the twentieth member of the eurozone, Croatia bid farewell to its currency, the kuna. Simultaneously, it became the 27th state to join the Schengen area, enabling more than 400 million people to travel freely without internal border controls.

The adoption of the euro by Croatia will enhance the Croatian population’s ability to travel more. The switch from the kuna to the euro streamlines currency transactions and eliminates the need for currency exchange when traveling within the eurozone. This simplification not only reduces financial complexities but also makes cross-border travel more convenient and cost-effective for Croatian residents.
