ADP PRESS RELEASE: ZAG Passenger Traffic Up 16.4% in H1 2024
The latest data on Zagreb Airport reveals a significant increase in passenger traffic and aircraft movements in the first half of 2024. According to Aeroports de Paris (ADP), the biggest shareholder in the airport operator Zagreb Airport International Company (ZAIC), the airport saw a 16.4% year-on-year rise in passenger numbers, reaching 1.971 million. This growth is even more pronounced in June, with a 17% year-on-year increase to 406,028 passengers.
In terms of aircraft movements, there was a 10.3% increase in the January-June period, totaling 23,857 movements. June alone saw a 10% rise to 4,420 movements.
ADP, together with Turkey’s TAV Airports (46%-owned by ADP Group), holds significant stakes in ZAIC. The remaining shareholders include Bouygues Batiment International and the Marguerite Fund (each with 20.8%), IFC (17.6%), and Croatia’s Viadukt (5.1%). The management and development of the airport, including a new terminal construction, are governed by a 30-year concession contract signed with the Croatian government in 2012.
The 30 year concession contract is expected to be prolonged by 5 years as per recent news.
